Ms. Minneapolis and Ms. Minnesota :)

WE MADE IT TO MINNESOTA!!! :)

We are in Minneapolis. It is a beautiful city--and there is a SAKS OUTLET across the street. NOW THAT'S a CITY! Hehe. I have a special connection to this city and state, as my Mom was born here AND my Grandma was Ms. Minneapolis and Ms. Minnesota once upon a time!

She was a true beauty and a dancer! The cast is going to Buca Di Beppo for Dinner tonight. I love our "date" travel Mondays. They make me happy. It is sort of like our bonding circle before "places" call every show.....we get to reconnect with each other as people, not just characters. I <3>

I am rooming with Natalie...GO US. We have been planning this for several cities and its finally here! Anyways, I will update more, for now heLLOOO MINNEAPOLIS!

French Toast PICS

COLUMBUS, OH Granola-baked French Toast
Pancakes w the Heightswives!
French Toast in STL w/ mi Papa!

Happy Thanksgiving from Columbus OH

I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving this year! The cast and crew spent the afternoon enjoying stuffed turkey, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes and way too many indulgences @ Latitude 41 (GO!). Thank you, Jeff and Julia, for recreating a "hom-ey" Thanksgiving!!!

I missed my family a LOT, however, I got to skype with them from the restaurant. My nieces and nephew were SO excited to see Yvette (from her tv show) and the rest of the cast. It reminded me to stay connected throughout this process. I am busy editing video, which I plan to finish @ dinner break.

I had the 24 hour FLU Monday and Tuesday, so I was out of commission, literally. I called out for one show, luckily I wasn't on, and did not get anything productive done.

Lastly, I just want to thank my parents, my family, my brother's family, my friends (new and old), my ability to perform, my career, job, love, A LIFE.period. And also, to all of those, military or not, who sacrificed anything and everything so I can be thankful for those things today.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM THE CAST OF IN THE HEIGHTS

GOLDEN DAY IN STL and My (debut) weekend!

WOW! So Monday, we had a "golden day," meaning we were not traveling, rehearsing, or performing ALL day. It was amazing. It was such a weird feeling to NOT actively think about the show for a full day. Eventually, I believe strongly that your body needs the break from stress, just from work in general.

Sunday night we all went bowling and had so much fun with our fellow cast mates, our familia :) It is an amazingly comforting feeling to know people have your back and will be there in the fun times and the hard times. It lets me know how much of a family we truly are becoming. I'd say I definitely got closer to a couple people on Sunday!!! ;) ;)

SO MY FIRST WEEKEND! How was it? Complicated, Accomplishing, Different, Fulfilling, FUN, Surreal, A Dream Come True. Every performance was ALL of the above. I am still in a place where numbers and choreography and notes are running through my head as I am on stage, but that will fade with time. I am a perfectionist, like most of the people in our cast, and with this show you can ALWAYS add a layer onto your performance. There are soooo many intentions , images, feelings, characters, places, especially within yourself, from which you can create your performance. It is challenging to have your layered onion-of-a-character, so to speak, complete by your "opening night." The ENTIRE cast and CREW were extremely supportive and aware of me onstage, my needs etc. It made me feel special in a way, knowing other people wanted me to succeed just as much as I want to.

This undying support includes my parents. Mom and Dad flew out to see me perform two shows on Saturday. They arrived Friday night, late, and without instruction wanted to hang out with the cast immediately :) They fit right in, having something to chat about with everyone. I hope it gave everyone a sense of home for a day, knowing they were out there supporting. I am so blessed and humbled by my personal family, everyday. Thank You Mom and Dad.

My roomies were gone this weekend :( Rebecca just got home yesterday from the wedding she was out for--beautiful by the way! We are so excited to have her back :) YAY I missed her cooking fiestas and rebecca-isms for sure. Christina left for New York early Monday morning and got home yesterday--she was so exhausted, but she brought us yummy food from New York. How she managed that--I have no clue!! Im glad everyone traveled safe and sound.

I go on for Natalie this weekend, Saturday and Sunday!! I am excited and also nervous. I feel as though I don't know her track as I did Rebecca's. This is probably because I focused on Rebecca's since the beginning of rehearsals in NY, but still. I am off to study now; we have understudy rehearsal in a few hours and then a show tonight. Thank for listening!!!

ATL GO TEAM UNDERSTUDIES!!! + Video Finally!!

SOOOO today, during the matinee performance, Kyle, our Usnavi, had to call out during intermission because he got intensely sick. This meant our original Sonny, Shaun, went in for Usnavi (without any Act 2 rehearsal time before-hand); our Male Ensemble member, Joseph, who covers Usnavi and Sonny, went on for Sonny (without any rehearsal) and Daniel, our Dance Captain and Male Swing went on for Joseph!!!!!!!!!! IT WAS SO NUTS and this all happened during intermission. It was like "who's on first," but honestly, they worked it out. Everyone was sooo professional and it went so smoothly. I am so impressed and truly humbled by this talented cast more and more everyday. It was quite the excitement for the day and thank goodness Kyle went back in during the evening performance.

The swings were all running around helping Daniel and Joseph and Shaun, meanwhile, Shaun was helping Joseph with Shaun's personal track (sonny). It was so awesome how everyone pulled together. The show really must go on, and for the Heights Family, today it did.

Take a Look @ Atlanta as we say goodbye on Monday and move on to St. Louis!!!

Atlanta Georgia!!!! Fox Theater and EXCITING NEWS

Atlanta, Georgia Streetlight

OK, so some of the girls decided to do a picture of the same thing in each city. I decided to photograph a streetlight in every city on our tour, as in "yeah I'm a streetlight, chillin in the heat" from the show :) I also want to take a picture of our marquis @ each theater.

We're now in the Fox Theater! It seats nearly 4300 people--the largest house we will play! St. Louis is the second largest (next). We started understudy rehearsals and Stephanie is of course amazingly running them. It's basically a rehearsal where you learn and practice the role you understudy (aka Carla). We are SO glad to have Steph here with us. We definitely could not do it without you, S. Not saying we aren't capable--but she is an ENCYCLOPEDIA on this show!!!
view from the pool!!!!

I LOVE Atlanta!! These pictures will prove it, for sure. Who gets to lay out on a rooftop in the beginning of November in ATL??? Our hotel is beautiful, just gorgeous. Rebecca and I are rooming together and we split food; we're food buddies. We made breakfast the first morning and steamed veggies tonight. UGH SO much better than eating out in Tampa everyday :( I was so bad at that. My body already feels better.

Christina and I went to ballet this morning--MUCH NEEDED and LONG OVERDUE. It was a wake-up call for sure, but also very relaxing to have someone else think for you and just listen to the music. We took the open class at the Atlanta Ballet. If anyone has suggestions for places to take class in cities we are in, please leave a comment!!!! Speaking of taking class, I miss it in LA. We saw MJs This Is It and it was so inspirational and humbling at the same time. What we have is a gift and we cant throw it away. I want to use it to its biggest potential. We say in circle everyday, its a good day to change lives, and I need to remember its true. My JOB is to move people, not many people can say that. :)

I FINALLY got to chat with my Dad today! I miss him very much and my family--especially mikey, my cat! HaHa. I love them. OH and THE EXCITING NEWS....

I AM GOING ON FOR REBECCA'S TRACK NEXT FRI, SAT AND SUN!!!! 5 SHOWS AND A PUT-IN REHEARSAL!!!! (where the entire cast does their show and I get to go in as Rebecca)

SO 13-16 IN ST. LOUIS. COME SEE!!! I AM SOOO EXCITED TO DANCE AND PERFORM AND UGH SO EXCITED TO BE WITH MY FAM ONSTAGE intheheightsthemusical.com!!!!!!

Gnite for now, need to rest and study as much as possible.
