Merry Christmas to each and everyone of you :)

The Heights Cast came over last night for QUITE THE EVENING. Our Matayoshi Christmas (EvE) Party was a hit! I am so thankful for my parents who arranged the entire thing. It made everyone, I hope, feel at home and welcome.

Words can't describe how much FUN I had last night...so here are the Carols, the Laughs and the Cheer from Christmas Eve. Thank you Mom and Dad!!!

Chicago! The Windy City

OK. I officially love this city! We are staying in an AMAZING apartment complex and I am so happy to be rooming with Christina and Natalie. We celebrated CHACHA's Birthday @ Japonais, a lounge/bar/restaurant. It is Euro-Asian Fusion. We always tend to take over the joints we are in and we didnt let this one slip by us. We were dancing and singing all over the place--thats why I love this cast.

We've had some touching moments in Chicago, already, trying to hold each other up as the holidays creep up on us. Luckily, my parents are coming out to Chicago for the week of Christmas. Unfortunately, since we stop for so long on this leg of the tour, a lot of the "big-wigs" are coming to rehearse us and check-in. We wont have a LOT of time to explore, but rehearsal is always good--especially as a swing.

I love the WICKER PARK area. We ate at a SCRUMPTIOUS restaurant for Brunch called " Bongo Room." They have the BEST french toast I think thus far. I will update with a picture soon. These rehearsals and 2-show-a-day schedule is really tiring me out.

OK, I MUST go to bed. We have rehearsal for a TV promo tomorrow and also understudy rehearsal with one of the Dance Captains from B'way--Michael. WE LOVE HIM. G'nite for now.

Brothers...the movie

Brothers was the BEST movie I have ever seen. It really hit home for me in a lot of ways with many different aspects of life and love and family. I cried more in that movie than I have in ANY other movie I have EVER seen. Natalie Portman, Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey McGuire and the little girl in the movie were SO honest with their performance. It brought such humanity and realism to the military soldier story.

I even cried on the way out of the movie theater :( I probably looked like an emotional mess, but I appreciate that film. GO SEE IT.

As for other business, Tommy and Alex came and we had our first understudy run for them. It went really well for not knowing the entire show. They were proud and generally happy. Tommy admitted he hadnt read my blog in a long time--get with the picture tommy! LOL Seven, in Minneapolis, was a very accommodating and generous lounge we visited twice throughout our stay. I highly recommend it!!

Coming out of the theater, a girl was with her friends taking pictures and she asked all of us for a picture....she was screaming "this is so cool" and she made my day. That was me 10 years ago at Fosse, or Saturday Night Fever, or Riverdance. I thank my parents for those experiences. I love you. Happy Holidays.
