GUESS WHAT???

I finally went on for ALL of my tracks! W1, W2, W3, W4, Carla! Done. Check! I can officially swing the entire show!!! I am proud of what I did this weekend BECAUSE: ChaCha--the other swing--normally covered W3 (the "girl in the red dress"). However, this weekend both of them were "out" so I had to figure out her track and do it. I knew it better than I thought, but also some things were a definite SURPRISE.

My favorite part was in the Club, realizing, I was THE GIRL IN THE RED DRESS and the entire company was supporting me; screamin for me and laughing with me.... it was really an amazing experience. Not to mention, Seth was the best partner I could have had on that stage. He was walking me through EVERYTHING and throwing encouraging words at me between back breaks and cross-body leads :)

We're in Austin now--going to see the BATS fly out from a bridge. Apparently its amazing and quite famous in Austin. After going on for split tracks the first weekend in Houston (last city) and going on for my last track, the last day.....maybe this week will be less eventful. Maybe not :)

Our lovely singers sang the national anthem at the Astros game in Houston the other day!! Aren't they FABULOUS!??

CARLA DEBUT! (Ft. Lauderdale)

ONE OF MY DREAMS CAME TRUE IN FORT LAUDERDALE!

Our Carla was feeling under the weather Friday night, so I asked her how she was doing. Her reply "get ready. there's a good possibility I could be calling out tomorrow....... ok?" followed by the little Genny laughter we love so much. So, I went home and listened to the Carla recording I have on my ipod for the entire car ride. With Natalie, we went through her entire show!

I got the text the next morning and IT WAS TIME. I was on.

I got to the theater extra early, I did my hair in amazing crazy curls, put on my HOT pink lipstick and before I knew it, I was in the middle of "circle" @ our "places" call with 20 or so hands on me, blessing my performance. Shaun said some very personal and caring words that made me tear up just before my debut!

Let me just say it was the most fulfilling performance of my LIFE. :) I have always told myself that my voice came second; I am a DANCER first. I was intimidated my contract even said "Carla U/S" at first, but the time is now to take a step in my career. I was finally forced, or given the opportunity (either/or) to have confidence in my skills. I CAN DO IT. I CAN hold my own in a principle role. I CAN MOVE UP from here!!!! It is POSSIBLE. Dreams DO come true. Believe it!! hehe
