LA coming soon! Lots of new things!

On June 7th, 2010, Heights cast members threw a benefit for Equity fights AIDS and a local charity in San Francisco. It was extremely moving and quite inspirational. It was fun to hear everyone SANG and material that is NOT the show. I filmed a LOT of it, but not everything because my flip died :( As a group we sang we are the world, like a prayer and will you be there. It was really meaningful to me to sing Michael songs, in lieu of his passing, at a benefit--where love and giving is always in the air.

The reception immediately following was warm and full of energy. Everyone was expressing themselves and telling cast members and soloists how much their songs meant to them. It was a breath of fresh air and something I needed right before vacation. On the Sunday before I left, I did a W1/w2 split track. It was BONKERS!!!!! It was difficult, but our team got through it. I was a little bit scared but I'm proud I pulled through.

Tired and sleep deprived, I arrived in South Carolina the evening after the benefit to my running 6 year old niece, Malea. I am so glad to be on VACATION and cant wait to upload my videos and pictures from the passing events!!! :)

Change is Good

The only constant is Change.

That is the theme on this tour. Our cast is going through some changes and although they are amazing, they are also accompanied by a little bit of fear. This being a true family, it is scary to think of it all ending one day; just another 2 hour show and BAM its over. We are coming to the last few legs of our tour and they are going to FLY by. What will I do then? I have plenty of things on my list, but where does that leave one personally.... being with 28 individuals everyday and then one day NOT. It is just a weird sensation we are slowly and, for me, dreadfully approaching.

In terms of the cast, I believe we had one of our last "understudies" go on tonight. Natalie Caruncho went on as Carla. It has been quite the weekend. We have had a swingtown weekend--that's when a lot of understudies are on or a lot of swings. We always pull through!!!!

I can't wait for Memorial Weekend.... There is a surprise coming. I will update asap.

Also, my BEST FRIEND in OC graduated from Cal State Fullerton. The only grad pic I have so far is form her mobile phone. I surprised her that evening by knocking on her door. She cried and it turned out to be a great gift :)
so proud of you.....

SYBIL

GUESS WHAT???

I finally went on for ALL of my tracks! W1, W2, W3, W4, Carla! Done. Check! I can officially swing the entire show!!! I am proud of what I did this weekend BECAUSE: ChaCha--the other swing--normally covered W3 (the "girl in the red dress"). However, this weekend both of them were "out" so I had to figure out her track and do it. I knew it better than I thought, but also some things were a definite SURPRISE.

My favorite part was in the Club, realizing, I was THE GIRL IN THE RED DRESS and the entire company was supporting me; screamin for me and laughing with me.... it was really an amazing experience. Not to mention, Seth was the best partner I could have had on that stage. He was walking me through EVERYTHING and throwing encouraging words at me between back breaks and cross-body leads :)

We're in Austin now--going to see the BATS fly out from a bridge. Apparently its amazing and quite famous in Austin. After going on for split tracks the first weekend in Houston (last city) and going on for my last track, the last day.....maybe this week will be less eventful. Maybe not :)
