Cleveland OH and now onto Baltimore!

GOOD MORNING BALTIMORE!!!

OK, so I don't have a camera anymore because it broke. I think I shattered the screen in my jacket, unfortunately. :( I need one, however, before I get to FLORIDA!

Cleveland was rather uneventful. We spent most of our time at Bricco--an amazing restaurant across from the Palace Theater downtown. www.briccocleveland.com CHECK IT OUT.

We went salsa dancing at the View on the last Friday night, which was so FUN because there was a live band and all levels of salsa dancing. The locals in Cleveland were SO gracious and appreciative of our show. We got several compliments per night at Bricco, of course because the restaurant was filled with theater goers. Other than that, Cleveland was great to perform in, but we are glad to be in Baltimore--one step closer to warmer weather BRRR.

Minneapolis MN

Minneapolis Video Try Again

Rock n Roll Hall of Fame

Cleveland OH...wowowow. The Rock n Roll Museum impressed me completely. It is actually right on the lake and over the water. I'm sure in summer it is beautiful.

Some of the artifacts they have such as costumes and 5 year old art drawings from Jimi Hendrix are detailed and make me question society a little bit. Isn't it fascinating that Americans are so obsessed and in awe of "rock stars" that we pay to see the artwork they did in school? The actual pictures made history such a reality though. My mother's stories and father's stories physicalized in the museum, which was a cool experience. I wish they could be there with me. Miss you...mom and dad.

All in all it was inspiring and made me think a lot about my life as a performer. Watching a documentary on the transformation of music throughout history, someone said "when you become one with the audience, you fill a single moment fully and completely" AND I TOTALLY AGREE. I thought it was so well put--the filling a moment completely part--because though the show may go by quickly, or you may take it for granted when you have 8 shows a week, when you look back at the ending note, or when you belted your face off, or danced until you couldn't anymore; you were complete. You can always draw back on that moment of your life and say, in that moment, I AM "HOME", I AM WHOLE. I guess that's why I LOVE to perform and wouldn't live my life any other way.

SNOW DAY IN PITTSBURGH!!!

Today, In The Heights had a record 2 show-day OFF because of the 17.5" of snow had by Pittsburgh overnight. Thank you Pittsburgh! Instead of being at the show and working all day in the theater, we got to jump around in the snow and watch "Couples Retreat." I do not recommend the movie, however; it ended up being slow and not as comedic as intended.

I had Indian food with the family today at one of the 5 restaurants open in downtown. It was calming and brought me down from my frantic thought process today. I was thinking gym, show, health, friends, rest, myself, this blog, there was a lot of nothing on my plate today and it was nice to have dinner with people who are calm by nature.

We still miss Rebecca, but Rosie from Broadway is gracing our stage, filling in for the next 2 weeks. She is amazing and so fun to work with. It really is true that we are family--the Bway and the Tour. It's like I gained the cousins I've always wanted. The tour company also got our "peace.love.world" apparel in this week. They are such interesting and exclusive sweats!!! They are super comfortable and the designs are so "heights." :) I will most more pics of the SNOW DAY and I am SURE a video soon.

I miss home and family, but will soon return and need to appreciate the here and now.

p.s. reading the Tao of Pooh--good read, a lot to absorb, more later.
