Cleveland OH...wowowow. The Rock n Roll Museum impressed me completely. It is actually right on the lake and over the water. I'm sure in summer it is beautiful.
Some of the artifacts they have such as costumes and 5 year old art drawings from Jimi Hendrix are detailed and make me question society a little bit. Isn't it fascinating that Americans are so obsessed and in awe of "rock stars" that we pay to see the artwork they did in school? The actual pictures made history such a reality though. My mother's stories and father's stories physicalized in the museum, which was a cool experience. I wish they could be there with me. Miss you...mom and dad.
All in all it was inspiring and made me think a lot about my life as a performer. Watching a documentary on the transformation of music throughout history, someone said "when you become one with the audience, you fill a single moment fully and completely" AND I TOTALLY AGREE. I thought it was so well put--the filling a moment completely part--because though the show may go by quickly, or you may take it for granted when you have 8 shows a week, when you look back at the ending note, or when you belted your face off, or danced until you couldn't anymore; you were complete. You can always draw back on that moment of your life and say, in that moment, I AM "HOME", I AM WHOLE. I guess that's why I LOVE to perform and wouldn't live my life any other way.
